How much do I love this fox design lampshade from Lush Designs? Our lampshade in the sitting room is old and stained and manky and I’m desperate for a new one to replace it. This might just be the one. But what colour? I’m torn between the red and black and the plum and orange. Help me!
Not that I have much money to save, but I totally adore Bank in the Form of a Pig by Harry Allen for Areaware, seen here in situ in a shoot for Mod Livin’ and Winifred Ross Reilly’s home. It comes in several colours, including gold and hot pink, but I like the purity of the white. Apparently it was cast from the body of a piglet who dies of natural causes and can hold $10,000 in dollar bills. I wish they sold it in the UK as shipping from the US is extortionate (Areaware quoted me $125 before taxes!!). Selfridges do the gold, pink and copper but have no stock until July. And I want the white anyway *sulks and stamps feet*!!

On the theme of stuff for my walls and, indeed, nature I like the simplicity and elegance of this Birds Around Britain poster by Bold and Noble. They also do it in a lovely warm stone colour (which would go with my sofas) but I prefer the azure. I think.
I’ve been looking for things to put on my rather bare walls and just love these nature posters from The French General Store. I especially love the pigs and cats as they’re two of my favourite creatures but was also tempted to post the goats and cows and sheep and, ooh, all of them! And, while apples aren’t my favourite fruit, I’m fascinated by heirloom varieties and the types of apple you only get at farmers’ markets with names like Hoary Morning and Rybston’s Pippin. Although, if I do partake of the old pomme, I’m rather fond of a common-or-garden Granny Smith!
One day, when I grow up, I’m going to have a dedicated laundry room like this one owned by Sarah Hartill, Style Editor of Canada’s House and Home magazine. Isn’t that curtain pretty?

I know this wallpaper by Ferm Living is targeted at parents of small children but I can’t help wanting it for myself. Just how fabulous would it look in a sunny kitchen, for example? With white units and a wooden work surface. Perhaps a limestone floor. And some daffodils in a vase on the windowsill. Oh dear, the decorating monsters are taking up residence in my head again…
Isn’t this the most gorgeous kitchen? I love the whiteness and the light and the layout and the yellow chairs. Oh to have my own house again instead of renting!

I’m getting very into posters and prints with messages and none struck me as much as this letterpress ship print from Seesaw Designs. It’s a quote by Mark Twain and aptly sums up my fears and feelings at the moment. For only $12, it’s a certifiable bargain and might find itself winging its way over the Atlantic soon.
I’m desperate for these delightful ceramic plaques by ceramicist Rae Dunn. Or, more to the point, my flat is. I have a worry though: is it slightly poncy/twee to have signs in your home in French if you’re English? And, if it is, do I care?!
